Olympus D-400 1.2MP Digital Camera Review

This is a wonderful camera, it does more than I can totally learn in one setting. The instruction manual is easy to read and follow. My first pics were a snap and I'm sure will only get better. My only criticism is that it doesn't come with the requisite software to use the floppydisk adaptor. Thank goodness Olympus has a great website that not only can you get your questions answered, but you can down load instructions and software to make the connection between camera to floppy disk adaptor to computer relatively easy.

I needed a camera for work and personal use. This one has proven to be just what I needed. Not too complicated but, forgiving enough to compensate for my ignorance. I am enjoying it tremendously.

I absolutely love this product and I have never taken pictures as nicely as I have with this camera. I even took pictures while in a moving car that where the best shots ever, as if it were a still photo!!!!!

This is one of the best point-and-shoot 4 megapixel cameras currently being produced. As with all Canon PowerShot SD series cameras, the SD300 is very easy to use. Canon also makes a 3 megapixel version of this camera (PowerShot SD200) which is about $100 cheaper.
What makes this camera DESIRABLE:
(1) Takes Great Pictures. This is the most important part of a digital camera, no? The SD300 is quick to focus, is quick to take pictures (very low lag time), takes crisp pictures, and is very easy to use. The SD300 even focuses in the dark thanks to its focus-assist lamp (you can turn this feature on/off). The picture quality is excellent compared to other cameras similar in size. The ease of use is much better than other 4 megapixel point-and-shoot cameras. Many have complained about the flash, but that's almost a non-issue for most snapshots.

Nexian NXC3100 NexiCam Digital Camera for iPaq Pocket PC Review

The NexiCam was a great solution to my digital camera problems since it worked directly with my Pocket PC... previously my old digital camera used a different type of memory than my IPaq Pocket PC, so transferring images between camera, PC and Pocket PC was alot more timely than I wanted.
The NexiCam works great, has more features than my old Kodak digicam, is very simple to setup and I am happy to be rid of the old memory cards. I love the built in Compact Flash memory slot, zoom feature and configurable self-timer.
One major downside I found was lack of good user documentation. The manual is Adobe based and very basic, you really need to experiment on your own to see the full potential of what you can do with the NexiCam (although that is alot of fun too!)

I love these type of Olympus cameras: they hold lots of pics, have clear quality, easy to charge and good guide wheel on the camera to help you judge how to use the camera best. I've had it for over a year and have taken this camera to several countries around the world and have never been disappointed. By now, it is probably not even sold by Olympus I would gather but I plan to have it for several more years. Technically, the only complaint I have is taking a picture at night, within a room, at a distance beyond 20 ft with a flash. It is slim, nice to look at and can stored easily. I have two other Olympus cameras, FE-190s- that are the earlier generation of this camera and they were very durable and easy to use. One of the FE-190s is about 5 years old and have taken literally thousands of pictures and even took it to Iraq during a year long Deployment and it performed admirably and still being used today by a family member. It was priced very reasonable and I don't think anyone could go wrong with this camera for vacations, everyday use and so forth.

Nikon's two newest 3" LCD entries have a tough act to follow, the very popular S7c. The first of these two is the S50. Nice sized camera that easily fits a pocket or purse. But here's what really makes it stand out:
1) Good quality 3x optical periscoping lens with true VR. The periscoping feature means the lens zooms inside the camera body, not outside. This protects the lens from damage if dropped or accidently turned on while in a case (or restricted area like a purse or pocket). The VR is of the optical shift variety, which is far superior to the "anti-blur" modes that simply boost the ISO. But this camera can also go to ISO 1600, getting the best of both worlds;
2) Large 3 inch screen you can see reasonably well at poor angels (such as when holding the camera at low angles or above your head), and better than average outside (at least well enough to take your photographs);

I decided on the Canon A495 as I wanted an inexpensive camera to carry around in my purse for unexpected shots. This is a good camera for beginners - it's not DSLR quality but it's easy to learn and use; it's not my camera of choice for my shots that I want to look really professional, my Panasonic camera is for those...but for those of you who just want a good basic camera from a well-known camera company, this one should fit your needs well.
Are you trying to decide between the A495 and the next model lower, the A490? Here are the differences:
·The A495 has a Face Self-Timer feature. You can focus on a group of people, and before the camera takes the shot, run over and get into the picture yourself, with your face being detected, too. Of course, you would also need a tripod or a place to set the camera down.

I made the decision a few months ago that the time was right to buy a digital SLR. I considered a number of models. What sold me on this one was that I am able to use my very old, but very good, lenses. [...]
I had 4 Pentax ME Super bodies from the 1980's. My lenses also date from that time.
The manual was not very helpful in figuring this out. It does require a setting change and one can shoot in only manual focus mode with aperture priority. It's very much like shooting with the old ME's but with a 6.3 megapixel digital image as the result.
